Having a nanny allows the family to function while the mum has a career. For those nannies who seem to go above and beyond what is needed within the home, there are things that you can do for her that will make her feel appreciated. After all, an appreciated nanny is more inclined to do the best job she can. While some families can’t afford a raise in pay for the childcare professional, there are other things that can be done to celebrate your nanny.

1. Family Functions

Invite your nanny to family outings as a guest, not an employee. This person is caring for your child on a regular basis and could be viewed as a part of an “extended” family anyway. This doesn’t mean you have to invite her to the family reunion or your cousin’s wedding if you are not comfortable with such extremes. However, there are many instances where you can invite your nanny to spend time with the family outside of the “working environment.”
