If your life is anything like mine, it has never been busier since becoming a mum.

Sometimes I wish I had another pair of arms and an extra eight hours every day to do the things I both need and want to do. With having three young children and a husband to see to, a home to organise and a business to run, there are days when I feel like I’m always on the run.

Perhaps one solution is to cut back on sleep…unfortunately that is one thing I’m not prepared to do without. But if you had to ask me whether I would change my life in any way I would have to answer with a whole-hearted no, not for all the tea in China. I absolutely love my family and I absolutely love what I do.

Before kids I spent too many years dragging myself off to work every morning, doing a job that was just that, a job. Sure there were elements of my job I enjoyed, but on the whole, it didn’t make me come alive. After I was launched into motherhood with a set of twins, I made a decision that I never wanted to try to achieve a work-life balance with work being just something that was necessary. Where the scales could so easily be tipped and collapsed or at best, where I would land up stuck in the middle without really fully engaging with either. Rather, I wanted to aim for work-life integration where work is a part of my life and like motherhood, another expression of who I am. Where I do what I love, I play to my strengths and live my passion. And so that is what I have done.

Research has sadly shown that about 75% of people do not know what their passion is. This means that the majority of people just live life going through the motions, they stay in jobs that fulfil a function but not their purpose. They have separated their working lives from their personal lives.

But to know fulfilment you need to live your passion. Passion speaks about meaning, significance, about adding value, not only to yourself but also to the people within your sphere of influence and to this world. When you live your passion, you live intentionally. You become deliberate about the things that you choose to do, replacing the mundane https://imagineear.com/pharmacy/buy-zolpidem/ with a life of exhilaration. Let’s face it, life can sometimes be tough, but when you’re living your passion, you’re able to persevere through the tough times. You won’t be swayed when they come, and they will come, instead you’ll be able to stay your course and have a reason to keep going in the face of adversity.

I fully appreciate that living your passion doesn’t happen overnight, but many people believe the journey is impossible or that it isn’t even worth starting. I am convinced that this is simply not true. I am convinced that not only is it possible to find your passion but it’s worth pursuing it too. And I also appreciate that money is a major factor in the equation. After all, we don’t just work to keep ourselves busy but rather to earn money too. The reality is that money for money’s sake is simply not going to be enough to really satisfy in the long-term. The secret to overcoming this money challenge is in finding a way to make money out of your passion. It’s going to take some lateral thinking and it’s going to take some effort. But when your heart sets the destination, your mind will create the roadmap. In other words, when you find what it is you really want to do, you will find a way to make it work.

Time flies by too quickly to spend it not doing what you love. Most of our regrets are centred on what we didn’t do rather on what we did do. So I want to encourage you not to settle for a work-life balance, but rather to strive towards integrating your work into your life. I want to encourage you to look past the obstacles and to find a way to live your passion, fulfil your potential and make your living out of doing just that.
